Bandits take Peach State Diamond Sports points title

The 8 and under Effingham Bandits baseball team won the 2007-08 Peach State Diamond Sports points championship.   

The Bandits competed in tournaments in Waycross, Brunswick, Cordele, McDonough and several local tournaments. Overall in 8U machine pitch tournament play, they finished in first place in six out of eight events with a record of 33-14. The Bandits also played in two 10U open leagues with a combined record of 8-9.  

In June, the Bandits competed in the state championship in Albany where they placed fourth and in a world series tournament in Brunswick where they finished fifth in the Gold Division.  

The Bandits finished with an overall record of 41-23.   

The players, coaches and parents thank all who have helped with sponsorships and fundraisers to make this season possible. The Bandits will focus on their kid pitch program.
