Rincon could have a budding tennis star in 10-year old Tianna Germain.
Germain placed third in the rapid rally tennis national finals of the 2007 U.S. Junior Olympic Skills Competition in Colorado Springs, Colo.
She competed in the 10-11-year old girls’ category.
In the event, a participant hits a low compression tennis ball against a wall, which is above the net line, and stands behind the rally line, which is 15 feet from the wall, as many times as possible in 30 seconds.
From Aug. 9-11, 72 athletes ages 8-13 converged at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for the opportunity to be crowned champions of their sport. Germain qualified by winning her age and gender category at one of 6,300 local qualifying events, followed by another victory at one of 150 regional events.
