Greenbrier jumped out to an insurmountable lead in the first quarter, and the Lady Wolfpack rolled to a 54-36 victory over Effingham County in the first round of the Region 3-AAAA girls basketball tournament Wednesday night.

The Lady Wolfpack held a 21-4 advantage at the end of the first period and cruised from there behind 19 points from Janay Moore.

Effingham ended its season at 11-12. Greenbrier advanced to play Glynn Academy in the semifinals Friday night.
The victory over the Lady Rebels also earned Greenbrier a berth in the Class AAAA state playoffs.
