Men’s basketball
Demontrez Austin (South Georgia State College) — Austin is averaging 5.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. South Georgia is 12-8 for the season and 5-5 in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Conference.
T.J. Rines (South Georgia) — Rines is averaging 2.4 and 1.9 assists per game.
Jay Wright (Casper College) — The Thunderbirds beat Miles Community College 92-70 on Wednesday. Wright scored 16 points and had eight rebounds for the Thunderbirds, who are 14-8 on the season. He is averaging 15.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game.
DeQuincey Bennett (Johnson and Wales University) — The former ECHS Rebel is averaging 15.5 points per game to go with 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game.


Women’s basketball
Hannah Anderson (Converse College) — Anderson has played in 16 games for the Valkyries (1-17), scoring a total of 20 points and pulling down 17 rebounds.
Amy Jameson (College of Coastal Georgia) — Jameson is averaging 3 points and 2.4 rebounds per game for the Lady Mariners, who are 18-3.


Softball
Alexis Mercer (Armstrong Atlantic State University) — The reigning Peach Belt player of the year was 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs as the Pirates pounded Mount Olive 9-1 in the season opener.
Shelby Zipperer (University of South Carolina-Beaufort) — Zipperer, a junior outfielder, and the Sand Sharks open the season Thursday with a home doubleheader against St. Andrews.
