Baseball
Josh Reddick (Oakland Athletics) — Reddick capped a solid week with an American League West division title Sunday in a win over Minnesota. Reddick was 8-for-26 with a homer, two doubles and four RBIs over the last week, though he was caught stealing for the first time this season. Reddick has a .303 average (10-for-33) in September.
For the season, he’s hitting .220 with 12 homers, 54 RBIs, 18 doubles and two triples.

Men’s cross country
Jesse Campbell (Georgia Regents University) — Campbell was 21st at the Jaguar Invitational, held Friday, with a time of 29:34.63.
Football
Tovar Allen (Alabama State University) — Allen, the starting right tackle, and the Hornets rolled up 398 rushing yards on Grambling and 269 yards passing in a 52-21 win. The Hornets (2-2) will host Alcorn State on Saturday.
Drew Brindley (LaGrange College) —The Panthers (0-2) will host Greensboro (N.C.) on Sept. 28. Brindley, a freshman defensive back, has not seen any action.
Brandon James (LaGrange College) — James is a freshman quarterback for the Panthers.
Justin McIntyre (LaGrange College) — A sophomore linebacker, McIntyre has eight tackles, including a half-tackle for a loss, in two games.
Robert Scott (LaGrange College) — Scott, a freshman defensive tackle, has not recorded a tackle for the Panthers.
Stephen Wilson (LaGrange College) — Wilson is a freshman offensive lineman for the Panthers.
Josh Mercer (North Carolina State) — A freshman running back, Mercer did not play in the Wolfpack’s 26-14 loss to Clemson. N.C. State will host Central Michigan on Saturday.
Women’s soccer
Sydnie Van Curen (Georgia Southern University) — The junior forward has one goal for the Eagles, who are 1-5-1. She registered two shots in a 3-2 loss to Mercer. The Eagles will visit Samford on Friday and Chattanooga on Sunday.
Marissa Hamm (University of South Carolina Beaufort) — The sophomore did not play in a 7-1 loss to Alabama State on Sunday. The Sand Sharks (2-4-1) will meet Florida Memorial on Friday and St. Thomas (Fla.) on Sunday.
