Morris, Hendrix claim OSP wins

Bobby Morris of Guyton won the Red Diamond Homes Mini Stocks in action at Oglethorpe Speedway Park on June 1, and Rincon’s Jay Hendrix claimed the checkered flag in the Love’s Seafood Street Stocks.

Morris outdueled Chris Johnson of Guyton, who finished second. Buddy Jacoby of Rincon was fifth, Charissa Dudley of Guyton was sixth, Randy Fields of Springfield was eighth, James Groce Sr. of Guyton was 11th, Michael Bean of Guyton was 13th, Michael Screen of Rincon was 14th and Daylon Barnard of Guyton was 18th.

Morris also leads the points standings in the Red Diamond Homes Mini Stocks with a 72-point cushion over Josh Carter.

Hendrix beat Guyton’s Chris Litchfield for the win.

In the Four Star Security 440s, Rincon’s Ricky Kellam was second behind Savannah’s Brian Balcom. Genny Harrington of Guyton took fifth and Chris Weiss of Rincon was eighth.

Kellam is second in the Four Star Security 440s points standings.

OSP to host sprint cars

Two of the American Sprint Car Series’ 13 regions will visit Oglethorpe Speedway Park and Swainsboro Raceway on June 22-23.

The ASCS stars of the Rebel and Southern Regions will take on the big half mile Oglethorpe Speedway Park on June 22.

Drivers from throughout the Eastern Seaboard and Midwest are expected to tow their winged, 700-horsepower, alcohol-burning machines to Georgia for the Rebel vs Southern region standoff.
