The South Effingham Mustangs completed a Region 2-AAAAA sweep of Ware County in Waycross on Friday. They skinned the Gators 9-5 after beating them early in the week 7-4 and 2-0.

In Friday's game, the Mustangs (10-8, 3-0) galloped to an 8-0 lead en route to their fifth straight victory.

Nick Duke shined at the plate for South Effingham, swatting three hits in four at-bats. He scored twice and drove in a run.

Brice Ogle and Devin Stefanski added two hits apiece for the Mustangs, who totaled 12 safeties overall.

Josh Berg pitched the first 3 1/3 innings, surrendering five runs (one earned) on four hits. Jakob Gross finished the contest on the mound, allowing three hits and not runs.
