After a mandatory week off, the South Effingham Mustangs football team got back after it this week.
Lifting weights, working on agility, learning the plays and even a little competition Tuesday.

The Mustangs hosted Beach in a 7-on-7 passing league contest.

No pads are worn and each team gets 15 plays to score as many points as possible.

SEHS coach Greg Manior said the scrimmage went well.
“We got some good practice time in and we worked on some things,” he said. “The kids were excited about it and it’s always good to break up the monotony.”

The Mustangs, who will operate out of the Wing-T on offense this season, looked sharp against the athletic Bulldogs. Senior quarterback Jeff Hamilton threw two touchdowns and showed fancy footwork eluding several defenders on a scramble.
The Mustangs’ next passing league game is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Southeast Bulloch.
