SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham County Rebels ended the regular season with a bang and a party Thursday.

The Rebels bombed Bradwell Institute 15-0 in four innings at home to finish off a Region 2-AAAAAA sweep. The combined margin of victory in the three games was 46-1.

After the Thursday's contest, Effingham County (24-5, 10-2) honored its seniors and hoisted the region championship trophy.

Chase Howze and Chandler Hinely paced an 11-hit attack with two safeties apiece. Hinely knocked in three runs and Howze plated a pair.

Ethan Johnson, Avery Elenbaas and Garrett Miller handled the pitching for the Rebels. They combined to allow just two hits.

The Rebels will host Grovetown or Lakeside on Wednesday in the first round of the state tournament.
