ECHS Girls Hoops Camp
The Effingham County High School girls basketball coaches will hold the 2008 instructional Lady Rebel junior basketball camp June 2-4. The camp is for girls entering grades 5-8. The camp will be held from 9 a.m.-noon each day at the ECHS gym and the cost is $50. For more information call coach Missy Roddenberry at 754-6404.

Mini Mustang Football Camp
The Mini Mustang Football Camp will be held June 16-18 at South Effingham High School. The camp is for ages 7-13 and will be held 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $100. The camp is non-contact and coaches will include former N.C. State head coach Dick Sheridan and arena league player Keith Glover. ECHS Baseball Camp
The Effingham County High School baseball program will be hosting a summer baseball camp for students who will be entering the second through ninth grades. The camp will be June 16-19 from 9 a.m.-noon. Campers are asked to bring a bat and batting gloves, tennis shoes for inside activities, baseball clothes for outside activities, catching equipment, cleats and baseball glove. Campers also are asked to bring a sack lunch. Snacks will be provided. Deadline for early registration was May 27. Full payment of $105 must accompany registration form. Late registration will be June 16 from 8-8:30 a.m. at Rebel Field. Late registration fee is $125.

SEHS Softball Camp
The South Effingham Lady Mustangs softball team will be holding its annual girls fast-pitch camp on June 2-4 at South Effingham High School. The camp will be from 9 a.m.-noon each day. Any girl age 6-12 is eligible to attend. The camp will be conducted by the SEHS softball coaching staff and players. The camp will focus on individual skills, teamwork and game strategy. Participants will be grouped according to age and skill level.  Each player should bring all of the necessary equipment for the position they play. The cost is $50 per player and can be paid when you arrive at the camp. Advance registration is preferred, but walk-ups are allowed. SEHS Baseball Camp
The South Effingham High Mustang baseball team and head coach Tony Kirkland will hold summer camp June 23-25.  The camp is open to players 8 years old through rising 8th graders. Camp will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. each day with each camper receiving a T-shirt. Participation fee is $75 ($50 if more than one participant from same family, siblings).  Make checks payable to “Mustang Diamond Club.” Campers should wear baseball attire and bring tennis shoes (in case of bad weather), hat, glove, batting helmet, cleats, bat and catcher’s equipment (if they play the position). Drinks will be provided. Sign-in begins each morning at 8:30 at Mustang Field. Registration forms can be picked up at SEHS; by e-mailing: juju3316@yahoo.com or calling Julie Vaughn at 631-1882.

United Way Night at OSP
June 6 is United Way Night at the Oglethorpe Speedway Park. Tickets may be purchased at the Effingham office at 711 Zitterour Rd. in Rincon. For more information, call 826-5300 or (912) 651-7720 or email Penny Cox at pcox@uwce.org. Tickets are $12 and half the proceeds will go to the United Way of the Coastal Empire. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and the United Way’s campaign commercial will be shot at 7. Races will begin at 8.
