Effingham County's fifth-inning rally came up a tad short in a loss to Region 2-AAAAAA foe Glynn Academy on Monday.

The Rebels (14-4, 0-1) scratched for four runs in a 5-4 setback at Rebel Field.

JR Lonon swatted a team-high four hits in four at-bats but was never pushed home. Christian Campbell added three hits to the Rebels' 12-hit attack and Ryan Harley added two safeties.

Ethan Johnson went the distance on the mound, allowing five runs on eight hits with seven strikeouts.
