Georgia Heritage FCU announced college scholarship award winners for 2016. Bethany Dyals, daughter of Christopher and Janna Dyals of Guyton, and Raquel Hazzard, daughter of Gina Hazzard of Rincon, received $2,000 and $1,500 scholarship awards, respectively.

Both students graduated from South Effingham High School in May.

Dyals, who plans to pursue a bachelor of science in nursing at Georgia College and State University, would like to work in a pediatrician’s office or children’s hospital. Hazzard will major in chemistry with a minor in creative writing. Hazzard hopes to continue her education at the Emory School of Medicine as she pursues a doctorate in medicine.
