Leona Edwards Jones will celebrate her 100th birthday on Sunday at Mizpah United Methodist Church on the Clyo-Kildare Road from 3-5  p.m.


Her children, Ernest and Lynette Jones of Springfield, Judy and Buddy Rainey of Albany and Jennifer Hadwin of Estill, S.C.,  are honoring her with this party.


Mrs. Jones has three children, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.


Everyone is invited to come and enjoy this day with her.

Rincon resident Katie Byrd celebrated her 100th birthday on July 4, surrounded by family and friends. Born in 1925 in Baker Hill, Georgia, Byrd has lived through a century of profound change — from segregation to civil rights — while raising a family, working in public schools, and remaining a steadfast woman of faith.
