Britt’s Dance Company dancers attended two local dance competitions, Encore and DTI, in Savannah this spring. At Encore, dancers received two first places, one second place and four third places on group routines.

At DTI, dancers brought home three High Golds and four Judges Choice awards. Six BDC dancers were among the 40 chosen out of hundreds to represent as Youth Dance Ambassadors and were invited to attend Nationals to compete and perform in a showcase. These dancers were: Haylie
Davis, Chloe Phillips, Shelby Duncan, Allison Sanders, Madison Lathrop and Rachel Conner.

Earlier this year, dancers from BDC-Britt’s Dance Company attended a regional dance competition and convention in Greenville, S.C. They took classes with some of the industry’s top dancers and choreographer, including Christian Vincent, who has worked with: Madonna, Ricky Martin, Gloria Estefan and Prince. He has also worked as an assistant-choreographer and choreographer on dozens of national commercials including Target ads.

BDC Elite Company Dancers also competed and brought home a Platinum (highest score recognized) and a second place overall for “Detention Dolls,” which was performed as a production with all 29 BDC Elite Company Dancers. BDC Tiny Elite (ages 5 and 6) brought home a High Gold, Mini Elite (ages 7-9) brought home two Golds and a second and third place overall, and Junior Elite (ages 10-13) received three Platinum, two first place overalls and one second place overall.

One BDC dancer, Chloe Phillips, was chosen as a scholarship finalist and received a scholarship for next season. She auditioned with over 100 other girls and was chosen as one of the top 20.
