One of the South’s largest festivals, the Beach Music Festival and BBQ Bash, is coming Aug. 20-21 to Jekyll Island.
The Barbecue Bash, sanctioned by the Georgia Barbecue Association, along with other new signature events, will add layers of fun, flare and a taste of the South to the heralded beach music event.
It will be the first Beach Music Festival and Barbecue Bash held in Great Dunes Park the first completed element of the island’s revitalization and the last in Jekyll Island Convention Center, another element of the island’s revitalization that will soon be rebuilt.
Come celebrate as Jekyll Island showcases the beautiful new oceanfront park and commemorates the many memories created at the Jekyll Island Convention Center.
Event activities include a concert by festival headlines The Swingin Medallions, shag lessons, a barbecue and wine tasting, barbecue cooking competition, and hosts of complimentary entertainment.
Last year more than 20 teams slow cooked barbecue all night and participated in the highly competitive Barbecue Bash the next day.
