The Georgia Salzburger Society will celebrate its annual Heritage Day on  Monday beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The theme for this year’s event is The Revolutionary War at Ebenezer. Guest speaker for the day is professor Robert S. Davis. He is the current professor of genealogy, geography and history at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Ala. He will speak during a gathering that begins at 11 a.m. in historic Jerusalem Lutheran Church.

Redoubt tours of the Revolutionary War remnants begin at 9:30 a.m. There will be walking tours, a poster contest for members of the GSS, historic displays and demonstrations, an old time lemonade barrel, activities for children, entertainment and the Market Platz. The Market Platz features hand-made items, including homemade jams and preserves, pickles, relishes and the very popular homemade raisin bread that always sells out quickly.

A festival highlight is the world famous “Crabettes.” They are a hodgepodge of musicians and singers.

Jerusalem Lutheran Church will be serving a barbecue meal with dessert for $10 per plate by advanced ticket beginning at 11:30 a.m. Call 754-3915 to secure tickets.
