RINCON, Ga. – Susie Davis has been named Grand Marshal of the 45th Annual Rincon Christmas Parade.

The parade, sponsored by the Rincon Noon Lions Club, is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Dec. 6.

Born and raised in Athens, Alabama, Davis attended the same school for 12 years, forming lifelong bonds with classmates. Her upbringing emphasized faith, civic duty, community involvement, and giving back—principles that have guided her throughout life.

After attending Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Davis worked in youth ministry, played piano at her church, and pursued a career in banking and finance. She later transitioned into broadcasting and marketing. Since moving to Effingham County 22 years ago with her husband, Don Davis, pastor of Oak Grove Church of Christ, Davis has remained deeply involved in the community. She has helped organize parades and events, including Christmas celebrations and Fourth of July tributes honoring local heroes.
