The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a Saturday evening accident on Highway 30 that resulted in two deaths.

One of the two drivers involved in the collision was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, 17-year-old Thomas Medlin, was airlifted to Memorial Health University Medical Center, where he died a short time later. Medlin, a member of the South Effingham High School wrestling team, had finished second in the Area 3-AAA traditional tournament and earned a berth in the state tournament just before the accident.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
