Mitchell Bieber was indicted by the grand jury on Monday in Effingham County Superior Court following evidence presented by Brad Brown, an investigator with the sheriff’s office.

A grand jury comprised of 23 jurors found probable cause to indict Bieber, 16, of three counts of murder, one count of cruelty to children, three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes.

Bieber faces a total of six counts for his alleged assault on his 7-year-old stepbrother Tyler Fennell, including murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes.

He faces two counts each of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of certain crimes for his alleged assault on his mother, Kara Fennell and stepfather, Kenneth Fennell.

On April 20, Bieber allegedly stabbed Tyler Fennell, killing him and then stabbed both his mother and stepfather when they confronted him.

The alleged assault took place at the family’s home on Appaloosa Way in Guyton. His first hearing was held on April 24.

Bieber will be arraigned on July 12.
