Bloomingdale Shooting: Springfield Receptionist Found Dead

BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. — A 39-year-old Bloomingdale woman who worked at a Springfield law firm and was the mother of a 13-year-old son was found dead Easter Sunday after a reported shooting, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

Paige LeAnn Lewis, a receptionist at The Ratchford Law Firm, was discovered with a gunshot wound inside her home in the 300 block of Cypress Street after Bloomingdale police responded to a 911 call at about 12:50 a.m. April 5. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The GBI said the case remains active and ongoing.

Remembered by family, coworkers

Lewis, a Savannah native, is being remembered by family and coworkers as a devoted mother and a positive presence in the workplace.

According to her obituary, she is survived by her son, Calvin “Eli” Frazier; her parents, Stacey McCorkle (Daryl) and Geary Lewis; and her brother, Christopher Lewis (Sarah), along with extended family members.

At the firm, colleagues described her as a bright and uplifting presence.

“All the staff and attorneys at The Ratchford Firm are like family,” said Lexye Shockley, an attorney at the firm. “Paige fit into our family very well. We are still trying to process this loss and we continually pray for her family and loved ones.”

In a social media post, the firm said Lewis “brought so much light into our office each day” and was known for her laughter, cheerful spirit and ability to ease stressful moments. Coworkers said her kindness and warmth left a lasting impression.

Her obituary notes said she enjoyed playing softball and will be remembered as a good mother, a loyal friend and an independent person.

Visitation at Thomas C. Strickland and Sons Funeral Home in Pooler, is scheduled for Monday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
