Effingham Hospital and Care Center is pleased to congratulate Dr. Joseph Ratchford, MD, on his receipt of the Medical Director Quality Award for 2010 from the Georgia Medical Care Foundation (GMCF). Dr. Ratchford has served as medical director for Effingham Care Center since December 2003 and is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Ratchford is an integral part of the quality of care patients receive at Effingham Hospital and Care Center,” said Norma Jean Morgan, CEO, Effingham Hospital and Care Center.

 

“Dr. Ratchford is a proven team leader, an effective educator, and a champion for quality improvement,” said Anne Hernandez, manager of GMCF’s Patient Safety Initiative. “We are proud to present him with this award — for his knowledge, leadership and involvement in promoting quality health care.”

 

As well as serving as medical director of Effingham Care Center, Dr. Ratchford maintains a private practice in Springfield. The award was presented at the GMDA Summer 2010 Symposium in Pine Mountain.
