Rincon Police officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Service arrested a wanted sex offender Thursday afternoon.
Officers and marshals found Derrick Kilgore of Augusta at a Talmadge Drive residence in Rincon. Kilgore was hiding under a bed when law enforcement officers entered the house, according to Rincon Police reports.
Kilgore is a registered sex offender in the state and is also wanted for parole violation. He also has a lengthy criminal history, according to police.
He was arrested and taken to the Effingham County Jail by the Rincon Police Department. More arrests may be forthcoming because of individuals possibly harboring Kilgore, who was a wanted felon.
