Rincon woman charged in domestic dispute involving WD-40

Kaelyn Sorenson-Fletcher, 26, Rincon, was arrested for battery-family violence on May 27 after her husband, Scot Fletcher, 27, told a deputy sheriff that during an argument at their home she sprayed WD-40 in his eyes, choked him and hit him.

Sorenson-Fletcher did admit to police that she sprayed WD-40 in her husband’s eyes because he was trying to punch her. The deputy sheriff said during her questioning, Sorenson-Fletcher was argumentative and aggressive.

She was transported to Effingham County Jail without incident.

Routine stop turns into jail trip for driver with two warrants

A simple speeding stop turned into a one-way ride to jail for Keanu Polke, 27, Rincon, after deputies discovered he was driving with a suspended license — and had warrants waiting in two counties.

Polke was behind the wheel of a Dodge Charger when a sheriff’s deputy pulled him over for speeding near Highway 21 and 4th Street on May 30. But things escalated quickly after the deputy ran his information through state and national crime databases.

Turns out, Polke had two outstanding failure-to-appear warrants — one each in Effingham and Chatham counties. He was also cited for driving with a suspended license and issued a warning for the speeding violation.

Polke was transported to Effingham County Jail without incident.
