Gov. Brian Kemp received 6,743 of 9,569 Effingham County votes in Tuesday's Republican gubernatorial primary.

The rest of the field included David Perdue (2,400), Catherine Davis (50), Kandiss Taylor (358) and Tom Williams (18).

AP declared Kemp the statewide winner shortly after the polls closed. He will square off against Democrat Stacy Abrams this fall in a rematch from 2018.
