Proposed ordinances on landfills, surface mining pulled from agenda
Hearing set May 18
Effingham County Board of Commissioners

SPRINGFIELD -- The six proposed ordinance amendments associated with surface mining and waste disposal sites have been moved from tonight’s Effingham County Board of Commissioners meeting and will now be heard during the May 18 meeting.

A designated time allotment will be provided for a hearing to obtain public input as well as the first reading of the proposed changes.  This additional time will allow residents to become more familiar with proposed changes and allow the board the ability to hear and consider public input prior to any action on the items.

A link to the current agenda with the proposed amendments, listed as New Business Items 9-14, can be found here:  http://ga-effinghamcounty.civicplus.com/AgendaCenter/ViewFile/Item/613?fileID=14511
