Rincon Mayor Kevin Exley is expected to make a full recovery.

RINCON, Ga. — Rincon Mayor Kevin Exley is undergoing treatment for what doctors have described as a highly treatable form of cancer, according to a statement released by the city Monday.

Exley is halfway through his treatment and responding well, with medical professionals expecting a full recovery.

While he may be in and out of the office as he manages his treatment schedule, city officials said Exley remains fully in control of his mayoral duties.

“Mayor Exley continues to lead with integrity and vision,” said Mayor Pro Tem Mona Underwood. “We are confident in his strength and determination, and we look forward to his full recovery and return to full-time engagement.”

The Rincon City Council and city staff have expressed full support for the mayor and emphasized that city operations and initiatives are continuing without interruption.

City officials thanked the community for its understanding and asked for continued thoughts and support for Exley during his treatment.
