Senior Center needs delivery drivers
Urgent

SPRINGFIELD -- The Effingham County Senior Center is in urgent need of volunteers to help deliver lunches to home-bound seniors.  Lunches are delivered to approximately 66 home-bound member clients Monday through Fridays.  Volunteers are paid mileage at 56 cents per mile.

Center Director Margaret Moore stated, “Even volunteering one day a week would be a great help.  For many of the seniors in our program, this can sometimes the only meal that they eat that day.”

If you are able to volunteer your time to help deliver the meals, or would like to receive more information, contact the Senior Center at 754-2138 or email Mrs. Margaret Moore at: mmoore@effinghamcounty.org.

The Effingham County Senior Center provides services to Effingham County residents age 60 and older.  Seniors can participate in activities such as ceramics, crafts, and games, as well as medical services such as blood pressure checks and immunizations.   Located at 128 New Stillwell Road in Springfield, the center also has an exercise room, game room, crafts center, and a library. A gift shop is located inside the center and includes items for sale which were handcrafted by members.

Call 754-2138 for additional information about the center and for information on how you can help our seniors by volunteering your time.
