Four Mustangs get college offers

Agnes Scott College, a private women’s liberal arts college in Decatur, recently held a basketball camp and came away impressed with South Effingham’s girls.

Forwards Shi’Asia House and Zakerria Hall and guards Kay’Mar Griffin and Elena Hairston all received offers from the Scotties, who play in Division III’s Collegiate Conference of the South.

Last season, Griffin averaged 9.4 points and 6.2 rebounds a game. Her 2.8 steals a game led the team.

Hall paced SEHS with 8.3 rebounds a game while averaging 5.8 points.

Hairston averaged 7.6 points and a team-leading 2.0 assists a game. House averaged 5.2 points and 4.1 rebounds a game

Rising senior Jayden Hair scored three touchdowns and flashed elite speed during South Effingham’s first summer football scrimmages. With a strong track background and growing leadership role, Hair is emerging as a key two-way contributor as the Mustangs look to rebound from a winless 2024 season.
