SPRINGFIELD, Ga. — Jmere Doe-Davis was unstoppable Friday night, scoring three touchdowns to lead Effingham County High School to a 48-10 victory over Lakeside.
The Rebels (4-2, 2-1 Region 1-5A) extended their winning streak to three games, dominating from start to finish. Effingham County scored on six consecutive possessions, quickly pulling away from the Panthers.
Doe-Davis ran for two long touchdowns, sprinting 55 and 60 yards, and added an 11-yard touchdown reception from quarterback Tucker Perkins. Doe-Davis finished with 119 yards on just four carries. Perkins also found Isaiah Brown for another touchdown pass.
JR McKenzie contributed two rushing scores, while Trayvis Hunter returned a punt for a touchdown.
The Rebels’ defense was equally impressive, recording 10 tackles for loss and holding Lakeside (0-6) to just 221 total yards.
Effingham County’s balanced attack and strong defense made a statement Friday, keeping the Rebels in a strong position in the region standings.
