BRUNSWICK, Ga. — South Effingham’s offense ran out of steam Friday night as Glynn Academy rolled to a 28-2 victory.
South’s only points came early in the first quarter when Glynn was punting from its own 1-yard line. A bad snap forced the Glynn punter to take a knee in the end zone for a safety — the Mustangs’ lone score of the night.
From there, the Red Terrors (5-3, 4-2 Region 1-5A) took control. Glynn has won four of its last five games.
The loss drops South Effingham to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in Region 1-5A. The Mustangs still haven’t beaten the Terrors since 1997, and Glynn shut out South in the previous two meetings, 31-0 and 35-0.
