Scoring Drought Sinks Effingham County in 54-45 Loss to Johnson

SPRINGFIELD, Ga. — Effingham County went more than seven minutes without a second-half field goal and fell to Johnson 54-45 on Saturday night. The Rebels (1-2) led 24-15 in the first half and were up 32-28 in the third quarter before their offense stalled. ECHS pulled within 47-45 with 2:11 remaining, but the Atomsmashers closed with seven straight points, including 5 of 6 at the free-throw line.

 Noah Reese and Jordan Drayton each scored 10 to lead the Rebels.
