GUYTON -- Brunswick scored on all six of its full possessions and breezed past South Effingham 42-3 Friday night on Senior Night at the Corral.

The Mustangs' lone score came on Tyler Quick's 44-yard field goal with 2 minutes remaining.

Brunswick (8-0, 4-0 Region 2-AAAAAA) used its speed to pull away in the early going. Pirate quarterback Jarrod Elkins threw four TD passes in the first half -- two to Terry Mitchell and two to Kevin Thomas.

Brunswick led 35-0 at halftime and the second half was played with a running clock.

South dropped to 3-4 overall, 1-3 in region, but stayed in the playoff hunt for fourth place and a trip to the state tournament. The Mustangs need a win in their final two games -- next Friday at Grovetown and Nov. 4 at Evans to claim fourth in the region.
