The Effingham 4-H is proud to be a participant in the Ronald McDonald House Charities. “Raising awareness of the need is vital,” said 4-H agent Abby Smith.

Every year, Effingham 4-H kids collect pop tabs as a way to give back to the community and also to teach them about philanthropy. Thousands upon thousands of dollars are raised from this event, and 4-H’s donation is some of it.

Over the past 10 years, the youth of Georgia have donated more than $63,000 in can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. The average cost to host a family for one night is $85.

Effingham 4-H’ers extended their thanks to the community, which has helped the cause. For more information on how you can donate, contact the 4-H office at 754-8040 or Smith, Extension Agent 4-H Youth Development, at awsmith@uga.edu.
