U.S. Rep. John Barrow (D-Savannah) has congratulated four students from the 12th District for having been appointed to the nation’s military academies for the class of 2015, including Courtney Anne Beck of Guyton. Each student received a nomination from Barrow.

“I’m very proud to have nominated these outstanding students to serve in our nation’s military academies,” Barrow said. “These young people have demonstrated excellence in academics and outstanding character. Their families and their communities should be proud of them, and I wish them continued success in their service to our country.”

Beck, a 2011 graduate of South Effingham High School, received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. She is the daughter of Anthony Joseph Beck and Laurie Ann Beck.

Beck was one of Rep. Barrow’s four Congressional appointees and one of two headed to the Air Force Academy.
