Coastal Georgia Community College held its 42nd commencement exercise on May 4.

The 2006-2007 graduating class was the largest in the college’s history. A total of 412 degrees and certificates were conferred. U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston was the commencement speaker.

Effingham County High School introduced its new mascot, Rowdy the Rebel, this week. Inspired by popular sports mascots, Rowdy will appear at school events, pep rallies, and games, giving students a fresh way to engage and celebrate school spirit.
