ECHS FBLA places at region competition

Thirteen members of the Effingham County High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the FBLA Region Conference/Competition at the Savannah Arts Academy in on Jan. 16, and three of them advanced to the state competition.


ECHS Chapter President Hannah Boyd led the way, placing first in Business Communications and first in Job Interview to qualify for the State FBLA Conference in Atlanta on March 15-16. Joining her at state will be Josie Alford, who finished eighth in Business Calculations, and Rajvi Dave, who placed eighth in Accounting I.


Also earning high marks for ECHS in the region competition were Natalyn Harris and Sri Chitluri with a fourth-place finish in Business Presentations, and Bryce Blewett and Alexa Daughtry taking second in Entrepreneurship. Chitluri also competed in Word Processing I.


Rounding out the Effingham County High FBLA’s region competitors were Evan Hartzog (Business Communications), Ana Avila (Business Calculations), Josh Walsh (Word Processing II), David Ciolko (Computer Applications), Vanessa Peralta (Business Math), Madison Shanks and Drashti Patel (Desktop Publishing), and Jonathan Harrell and Amea Thompson (Introduction to Business Communications).
