ECHS to hold College Night

Effingham County High School will host its annual College Night on Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. at ECHS. Students who are current juniors and seniors and their parents are invited to explore their college options.
 
College night will feature:
 
Representatives from many local colleges (Savannah Tech, Ogeechee Tech, Armstrong Atlantic State University, Georgia Southern University, Middle
Georgia College, South Georgia College, Savannah College of Art and Design and more) will be available to visit with students and parents concerning admissions requirements, scholarships and majors available. 
 
All branches of the military will be available for answering questions and speaking with parents and students about educational benefits available through military service.
 
Mrs. Linda Attebery, expert on financial aid from the Georgia Student Finance Commission, will be making presentations and answering questions on obtaining federal help for funding one’s education by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). 
 
Information sessions will be held during the evening focusing on the HOPE Scholarship and Grant, dual-enrollment programs available at local colleges for upcoming juniors and seniors, and testing requirements for college bound students.
 
Junior and senior students and their parents are invited and encouraged to use this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the college options available close to home.
