Effingham students make dean’s list at GCSU
MILLEDGEVILLE — Three local students completed courses with exemplary marks and made the dean’s list for 2013 spring semester at Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, announced President Steve Dorman.
Students from Effingham County making the dean’s list were Samantha Buck of Guyton, Alex Reid of Rincon and Kristian Page of Springfield.

Hall honored at Darton
ALBANY — Darton State College recently held its 45th annual Honors Awards Ceremony. Taylor Hall of Springfield was recognized at the awards ceremony and received Phi Theta Kappa.
The Honors Award Ceremony is held annually to recognize both the academic achievements of students and scholarship recipients.

Students earn ABAC honors
TIFTON — Sarah L. Donnell of Guyton was named to the dean’s list at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College for the spring semester, and Casey L. Weredyk of Guyton was named to the distinguished achievement list.
ABAC cites its top academic students each semester on the president’s list, the dean’s list, and the distinguished achievement list.
Students who qualified for the dean’s list attained a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and carried at least 12 hours of academic work.  
The distinguished achievement list is composed of students who complete between six and 11 hours of academic work with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. The purpose of this list is to recognize excellence and scholastic achievement among part-time students.
