Many local students who attend Valdosta State University have been recognized for their outstanding academic work.

Students who are spring 2007 graduates include Casey Lauren Pearson of Guyton and Joseph Brant Wingard of Springfield.

Pearson received her Bachelor of Science degree in education with a special education focus. She also made the dean’s list for the spring semester.

Wingard received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in speech communication.

Other local students were recognized for maintaining a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and receiving at least 3.5 grade point average with at least nine hours of course work for the current semester.

Students who made these achievements were named to the spring 2007 dean’s list. They include Kurt Alan Vermillion of Guyton and Carrie Rahn of Clyo.
