SAVANNAH—Parker’s recently donated $8,000 to the Effingham County School System through the company’s popular Fueling the Community program. The check donation took place at a special ceremony during the annual Field Day celebration at Guyton Elementary School on May 6.

Jeff Bush, director of fuel management at Parker’s, presented the check to Guyton Elementary School principal Charlotte Connelly as well as Pre-K students and teachers, who accepted the check on behalf of the school system. This donation is part of more than $100,000 Parker’s has donated to local public and private schools throughout the 2015-16 academic year.

“We understand the value education brings to the community in Effingham County,” Bush said. “On behalf of everyone at Parker’s, we are delighted to present a check to support teachers throughout Effingham County Schools. We are grateful for their commitment to educating the next generation.”

Parker’s operates 44 convenience stores across the region and employs 625 individuals throughout Georgia and South Carolina. The company is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary.
