Soucy receives honor at University of West Georgia

CARROLLTON—Jason Phillip Soucy of Rincon was named one of the outstanding honors college students at the University of West Georgia’s annual Academic Honors Convocation.

As a recipient of the junior award, Soucy was selected based on an overall grade point average of at least 3.2, participation in honors courses and service to the Honors College.

Effingham County High School introduced its new mascot, Rowdy the Rebel, this week. Inspired by popular sports mascots, Rowdy will appear at school events, pep rallies, and games, giving students a fresh way to engage and celebrate school spirit.
