South Effingham Middle School FFA team competes in Poultry, C.D.E.

The South Effingham Middle School FFA Poultry Evaluation Team recently competed in the Area FFA Poultry Evaluation Career Development Event held in Dodge County.

The Poultry Evaluation Career Development Event advances the knowledge of agricultural education students about the selection and management of poultry and poultry products. 

Participants in the event judge classes of laying hens, broilers, grade poultry and eggs, and identify parts.

Team members include Anna Collins, Logan Youmans, Meli Warren, Luke Elliott and Mitchell Strickland.

 The team scored highest in the Area 4 Junior Division and will competed at State on March 17 in Athens.

Logan placed as high individual in Area.

The Poultry Evaluation Career Development Event is sponsored by Zaxby’s and Centurion Poultry as a special project of the Georgia FFA Foundation.

FFA is a national organization of over 600,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. 

FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education program in public schools.
