7th Annual Taste of Effingham for Thursday
Taste of Effingham

The Effingham Chamber of Commerce will host its 7th annual Taste of Effingham, presented by Vision Financial, on March 2. The event will be held at the Effingham County Recreation Department, located at 808 Highway 119 in Springfield.

With at least a dozen booths expected, this year’s event promises to keep the tasty and tantalizing tradition of Taste of Effingham alive. For the price of one ticket you can sample delicious treats from a room full of area restaurants, along with a glass of wine, beer, soda or water, while enjoying the music of Savannah’s own popular singer, Harry O’Donoghue, adding a bit of Irish to the celebration.

Participating restaurants this year include the Tin Fin, El Real, Effingham College and Career Academy, Sweet Tea Grille, Gypsy Soul Café, Schnitzel Shack, Simply Southern, The Cake Mix, B&R Backyard BBQ, Horton’s Quality Meats, The Grille at Lost Plantation and Butterducks Winery.

In addition to the delicious fare, there will also be a silent auction. Chamber Executive Director Rick Lott says the auction will be “amazing.”

“This is one auction you won’t want to miss,” he said, adding that items up for bid include hotel stays at the Ritz-Carlton in Atlanta, the King and Prince at St. Simons and Doubletree by Hilton at Savannah Airport, as well as a desktop computer and a Savannah riverboat dinner cruise for two.

Tickets can be purchased at the Chamber office, Renasant Bank branches, Queensborough Bank, Teach Right, Burns World Travel, GeoVista Credit Union, Platinum Properties, the Effingham Herald and Ameris Bank. Tickets are $15 each, or two for $25. The event runs from 5 to 7 p.m.

Additional sponsors for the event include Coca-Cola, GeoVista Credit Union, Effingham Health System, Renasant Bank, Ameris Bank, Georgia Power, Effingham County IDA, Georgia Transformer, Edwards Interiors, the Effingham Herald and Coldwell Banker.
