Vacation Bible School:  Pineora Baptist Church is holding their Vacation Bible School from May 20-24, 6-9 p.m. The theme is “Game Day Central, Where Heroes Are Made.” For more information, call 772-3044. Pineora Baptist Church is located at 131 Elkins Street in Pineora.


Art Camp:  Rincon United Methodist Church is hosting art camp from May 21-25. Cost is $20. From 9:15-10 a.m., 3-5 year olds will explore the world of art through drawing, painting, printmaking and 3-dimensional art.
6-11 year olds will have art camp from 10:30 a.m.—noon. They will explore the same areas as the preschoolers, but they will be learning more advanced concepts based on their own ability. They will discuss color, composition, art history and other concepts based on our project for the day. They will be working individually and in groups. Crown Jewel Conference:  Becoming the Crown Jewel 2007 Conference for middle and high school girls will be held June 1-3 at the Savannah Baptist Assembly in Pineora. Early registration is $60 during April. Late registration is $75 during May. Full and partial scholorships available. Vacation Bible School:  Rincon United Methodist Church is hosting their Vacation Bible School on June 11-15 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for babies to adults. They are going to dive right in and “Make a Splash with Jesus”. They will take the plunge and take the ride of their life through whirlwind adventures through stories, art, drama, games and music. Game Day Central:  First Baptist Church of Rincon will be hosting “Game Day Central” Vacation Bible School from June 11-15, 9 a.m.-12:15 p.m., for ages 4 years-finished 5th grade. Register online at

Performing Arts Camp:  Rincon United Methodist Church is hosting a performing arts camp June 18-22 from 9 a.m.—noon for 6-11 years old; cost: is $30. Children will work with others on a play and its stage design. They will make their own props and costumes, learn stage direction and be introduced to theater etiquette. Children’s Camp:  Rincon United Methodist Church will be taking children, 3rd-5th grade, to camp at Springfield Methodist Campground beginning Sunday, July 15 at 5 p.m. through Wednesday, July 18. Please pre-register for the camp by calling the church office or Kristin Youmans at 826-5796.

Instrumental Ensemble:  Guyton United Methodist Church is hosting an instrumental ensemble open to any Effingham area adult or youth musician playing on a high school or above level. The group plays fully orchestrated hymns and some classical. Instruments included are woodwinds, brass, and orchestral strings (violin, viola, cello, bass). Practice sessions are every Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the church, located at the corner of Church and Fourth Streets in Guyton. For more information, call 772-6468.

Men's Prayer Breakfast:  Cornerstone Baptist Church would like to invite the men of the community to join them for a time of food, fellowship and prayer each Tuesday morning at 6:30 a.m. The prayer breakfast is held at the Cornerstone House located on the corner of Ralph Rahn Road and Highway 21. American Sign Language:  First Baptist Church of Rincon is now providing American Sign Language interpretation during the 10:30 a.m. worship service led by Emily Leggett. Leggett, who learned sign language from a hearing-impaired uncle, has worked with deaf students in the public school system.
