GSU hosts art classes for students, adults

STATESBORO — Classes designed to improve art skills are being offered by Georgia Southern University. The classes will be instructed by Sarah Davis and Jenn Galusha and are being taught in the Nessmith-Lane Building located on campus.  

1.) Mixed Media: Express Yourself
Fee: $75

Participants will learn to use materials such as paint, print making, found objects, and various colors of paper to express an emotion. The participants will then use a wide range of materials in not so common ways. The first Saturday will include a demonstration of materials and instruction on how to formulate a chosen emotion into a piece of art. The second Saturday will be used to finish up the pieces and end with a critique.

2.)  Oil Pastel: Landscape
Fee: $75

The students will learn various oil pastel techniques to draw an outdoor landscape. After a guided practice of techniques, the students and instructors will travel outside to put their new skills to work. The second Saturday students will finish up their landscape and will end with a critique.
