Savannah River Bridge Run set for Dec. 1

Mark your calendars and make plans to be a part of the Southeast’s most exciting bridge run, the Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run on Dec. 1.

The Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run is an annual event attracting thousands of participants, race enthusiasts and fun-seekers from Savannah, the Low Country and across the U.S. each year. The Bridge Run gives participants the chance to cross Savannah’s Talmadge Bridge, a 1.4-mile span at a 5.5 percent grade, 196 feet above the Savannah River, on foot. The Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run has something for everyone — races, awards, a fun after-party with food, refreshments, music and more.

It features a 5K run/walk, a 10K run, a double-pump race, the Critz BMW 10K Team Challenge, the Critz BMW double-pump team challenge, a costume contest, and a 1/4 mile kids run. No matter your age or experience you can run, walk or crawl and say that you conquered the Savannah River Bridge.

The Enmark Savannah River Bridge Run is fun for the whole family. Packet Pickup and Fleet Feet Sports Expo will be on Nov. 30 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at the Savannah Civic Center.

Participants and friends are invited to attend a special dinner catered by the Lady and Sons. Guests will be treated to a sports apparel fashion show and a special appearance by guest speakers Tim DeBoom, two-time Iron-Man World Champion, and his wife, Nicole DeBoom, owner of SkirtSports, Inc. The dinner will be held Friday evening at 6:30 in the Savannah Civic Center Ballroom and costs $8 per person.  

Friends, family, fans and race spectators are invited to join in as they cheer on the Bridge Run participants in Downtown Savannah Dec. 1. The 10K race will start at 9 a.m., the 5K race starts at 8:15 a.m. and the 1/4 mile kids run starts 8 a.m.

The 5K race begins across the Savannah River on Hutchinson Island and ends in front of the Savannah Civic Center. The 10K race starts in front of the Chatham County Court House on Montgomery and finishes in front of the Savannah Civic Center. To view the race map visit www.savannahriverbridgerun.com.

Registration is available online at www.active.com or registration forms are available at participating Enmark gas stations throughout the Coastal Empire and Low Country and at Fleet Feet Sports, 3405 Waters Ave., Savannah.

Register before Nov. 18 and the entry fee is only $22. Register from Nov. 18-29 and the entry fee is $26. All participants that register at packet pickup will pay $30.

The entry fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments. Presented by Enmark and organized by the Greater Savannah Sports Council, the Savannah River Bridge Run benefits the Cancer Care Research Pavilion at St. Joseph’s/Candler.
