Model airplane day at Mighty Eighth

POOLER--On May 2, the Mighty Eighth Air Force Museum is offering a free children's model airplane building class and child's admission with the purchase of a model airplane. World War II model airplanes are on sale in the Museum Gift Store for $9.99. Unique model airplanes from the museum's archives will be on display in the museum's rotunda.

Children's model airplane building classes will be offered at 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Spaces are limited so to save your spot in the building class please contact Heather at (912) 748-8888 or at education@mightyeighth.org. This is the first of five weekend event's the museum is hosting as part of May Mayhem in celebration of the museum's 13th anniversary.

It is the perfect time to come see the museum's newest addition a WWII era B-17 bomber. The airplane named, "City of Savannah" is on display in the Museum's Combat Gallery. Museum guest's can also enjoy lunch at Chef Matt Cohen's New South Pub. The pub is open daily from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. serving delicious sandwiches, soups, salads and a hot Southern buffet.
