White to sing at Boros Emma Kelly Theater

Tasheina Canty White will join Statesboro’s Averitt Center for the Arts as part of their First Friday concert series at the Emma Kelly Theater on Aug. 6 at 7:30 p.m.

The show will highlight some popular classical pieces from Handel, Schubert, Pergolesi and more. In addition to the classical portion, there will be an uplifting presentation of spirituals and anthems that will feature her family, the Canty Singers.

Rooted in gospel music, Canty holds a passion for both traditional and contemporary gospel. She expanded her musical gifts through classical music during her studies at the University of Georgia.

She is married to Torian White, valedictorian of the South Effingham High School class of 1999.
