The Effingham County Health Department is extending its hours for back-to-school immunizations.

Its hours on July 15 and 29 will be from 8 a.m.-7 p.m. each day.

School-aged children are required to get certain immunizations before going back to school. The Effingham County Health Department offers immunizations Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. year-round. However, to make it convenient for parents to get their children immunized, the Health Department will extend clinic hours on July 15 and 29 until 7 p.m.

Parents are urged not to wait until the last minute and are encouraged to take advantage of the upcoming extended-hour immunization clinics. Appointments are encouraged.

For more information on immunization requirements, eligibility criteria and/or to make an appointment, please call the Health Department at 754-6484.

The Health Department is located at 802 Highway 119 South in Springfield.
