The Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program is asking for the support of local business and organizations during National Crime Victims Rights Week by coordinating the annual “Jeans for Justice Campaign.”

The 2008 Jeans for Justice Campaign is April 18.  Participation is simple. For $5 each, employees wear jeans to work on Friday to show solidarity with and support for victims of crime. Last year, the support of the community was greater than ever, with over 400 employees from 25 local businesses participating.

This year, the EVWAP wants to double participation. Employers, schools and other organizations can pledge now to participate. To sign up and pledge the support of your business, school or organization, call Glenda King at 754-7460 or email evwitness@windstream.net.

Effingham County Victim Witness Assistance Program, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing services, outreach and support to victims and witnesses of personal injury crimes. It is supported through grants and the generosity of the community.
